Many of our recent productions have moved to other theatres (ROOMS to an Off Broadway theatre and many regional theatres around the country, and Pearl Bailey...By Request to Milwaukee Rep. Cool Papa's Party is continuing to be in development en route to Broadway. In addition, our productions are getting significant recognition from the Helen Hayes Awards. In the past few years we have received Helen Hayes Awards for Lead Actress (Natascia Diaz), Outstanding Choreographer (Maurice Hines), Outstanding Music Director (William Knowles) and Outstanding Ensemble (HEROES). In fact this past year MetroStage won three Helen Hayes Awards. (We did earn some bragging rights since the only theatres to win more Awards were the Kennedy Center and The Shakespeare Theatre---pretty impressive for a theatre in a converted lumber warehouse.)
