From her beginnings in the segregated South to her debut on the stage at Carnegie Hall, Mahalia became "The Queen of Gospel Music." Standing beside her friend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Mahalia became the voice of the civil rights movement. A stirring, humorous musical tribute with many great gospel numbers.
